Baha Lake is also known as Khukush Langar Lake. It is one of the most captivating high-altitude lakes in District Ghizer, Gilgit-Baltistan. Located in the scenic Koh-i-Ghizer region near Langar Village in Tehsil Gupis, the lake sits at an elevation of approximately 3,622 metres (11,883 feet) above sea level. Surrounded by towering mountains, lush alpine landscapes, and glacial streams, Baha Lake offers visitors a unique blend of natural beauty, adventure, and tranquility.

How to Access Baha Lake

From Islamabad

Visitors can travel from Islamabad to Gilgit either by air or by road via the Karakoram Highway.

• Islamabad to Gilgit by air: approximately 1 hour.
• Islamabad to Gilgit by road: approximately 14–16 hours.

From Gilgit, travelers should take the Gilgit–Shandur Road towards Gupis and continue onward to Langar Village.

From Langar Village

Baha Lake is accessible via a trekking route from Langar Village. The hike generally takes around two hours and passes through scenic mountain landscapes.

The trail is not suitable for motorcycles or bicycles due to its steep and rugged terrain. Visitors are advised to wear appropriate trekking footwear and carry sufficient water and essential supplies.

Best Time to Visit

The ideal time to visit Baha Lake is from May to September when the weather remains pleasant and the trekking routes are generally accessible.
